Dr Mahamudu Bawumia the former Vice President has donated GH¢100,000 to Mr Bernard Mensah who suffered a near-deadly accident during the 2024 election campaign.

According to reports, Bernard Mensah is a dedicated New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mampoma Polling Station Officer within the Twifo Atti-Morkwa Constituency in the Central Region.

The information gathered suggests he suffered a near-deadly electrical accident while fixing streetlight bulbs on electric poles during the 2024 election campaign.

In a video shared by NPP’s Gen Buhari on social media, Dr Bawumia spoke to Bernard Mensah on a phone call appreciating Mensah’s dedicated service to the NPP.

He further assured him of further assistance whenever needed.

“When I saw pictures after your accident, I was very saddened. It is not easy—you have gone through a lot of pain. You could have even died. God preserved your life for us. Sorry ok, sorry, sorry.

We thank God for your life. Sorry for what you have gone through. I am here for you. I have asked that they give you something small to support your upkeep. If you need further help, don’t hesitate to reach out. We will give you all the support you need,” Dr. Bawumia added.

Bernard Mensah later articulated gratefulness to Dr Bawumia for his kind gesture and wished him well,

He further wished him in his future political endeavours as he seeks to lead the country as President.

Meanwhile, some Ghanaians have thanked the Vice President saying, OH, GOD BLESS U DR BAWUMIA and May GOD HEAL the man too”.

“What else can he do in opposition? Then in power, he couldn’t even donate anything, but sore throat medicine to Afua Asantewaa Sing-a-thon. Whom do you want to show off”, another stated.

A user also stated, “Polling station officer? Does he work for ECG? To be fixing light on poles?? Let’s see if 100k can restore what he lost”.

Additionally, another added, “Chale tell am make he hold on with the donations na the opposition he go dey keep and he go need every cedi”.
