According to Appiah Stadium, the only thing that can disgrace President John Mahama is dumsor.

He urged John Jinapor to resolve the ongoing power crisis in the Ashanti region to preserve the President’s reputation.

Appiah Stadium ambushing John Jinapor who was on a phone call stated, “Solve the electricity for Mahama glory, you will become president, the name John is not used for carpenter, Akufo-Addo is the one that has destroyed the country”.

Going down on his knees, he added, “ Yesterday we slept in darkness, Energy minister I am begging you, help us, the only thing that can disgrace John Mahama is dumsor, he has done everything, between you and your brother one of you will become President”.

Meanwhile, John Jinapor has dismissed claims of the re-emergence of ‘dumsor’ in the country, dismissing calls for the publication of a load-shedding timetable.

Providing updates on the energy sector at a press conference at the Jubilee House, John Jinapor noted that such calls were unwarranted as the country was not currently experiencing ‘dumsor’.

“Today, let me put on record that we are not shedding load and so the demand by the minority and some people that we publish a load shedding timetable is moot. When you are not shedding the load, there is no need to publish a timetable,” he declared.

Although he admitted there are power system challenges, the Minister noted that there is enough power as Ghana currently exports 300 megawatts of power to its neighbours Burkina Faso and Benin.

“In fact, as we speak, we are exporting about 300 megawatts of power outside Ghana to Burkina, Benin and neighbouring countries.

“And so, when you have enough and you are exporting power to other countries, obviously there will be no need to publish load shedding timetable,” he added.

The minister further assured that although the power system is very fragile and weak, the government is working to procure enough fuel and to make enough payments to suppliers in order to hold the system.
