President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has chastised the National Secretary Secretariat for the raid carried out on the residence of former Bank of Ghana (BoG) Governor, Dr. Ernest Addison.
Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has accused National Security operatives of stealing money and some jewelry from the home of the former Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Addison.
This comes after armed Nat’l Security Operatives raided the home during a raid on the home of former Bank of Ghana (BoG) Governor, Dr Ernest Addison on the dawn of March 20, 2025.
According to the Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the operatives took GH₵10,000 and jewelry belonging to Dr Addison’s wife.
Speaking at a press briefing in Parliament on Thursday, March 20, the Minority Leader condemned the lawlessness of the state security forces.
“This morning, the Minority caucus is here to express its concerns about the growing lawless conduct of our National Security operatives, who have been unleashed on opponents, particularly the former NPP appointees of President Akufo-Addo. The aim is to intimidate and frustrate them,” he stated.
Reacting to the incident, Mr. Cudjoe criticized the misuse of search warrants, stressing that they should only be employed for lawful searches—not as a cover for vandalism, theft, or other misconduct.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, March 20, Franklin Cudjoe wrote, “It is embarrassing for the Majority Leader of the ruling government to be rendering apologies on behalf of state-sponsored thugs who raid the home of citizens.
“In a civilized country, warrants secured are for lawful searches, not to vandalize property, steal food, money and jewelry.”
