John Mahama is said to have engaged with some of the affected traders and pledged government support.

He detailed that action will be taken to help the affected individual who has lost their livelihoods.

He further called for an investigation into the cause of the fire.

According to reports, a two-story building housing several shops in the central business district of Adum in Kumasi is on fire.

The information gathered suggests the fire is at the popular Blue Light arena, close to Hello FM.

Reports suggest the fire started around 6 am and spread rapidly as fire officers made attempts to contain the blaze.

According to reports some shop owners attempted to defy the ravaging fire to salvage their goods.

It has also been revealed that a shop owner had to be forced out, and at a point, a ladder was needed to evacuate him from danger.

The information available suggests Most of the shops deal in mobile phones and accessories, jewellery, and clothing.

An eyewitness account claims the fires started from a touching electricity pole in the area, leading to a sparkle on the top floor of one of the buildings.

Additionally, some Ghanaians have expressed their opinion about the situation in Adum, saying, “ After 68 years of independence a country like Ghana doesn’t have fire fighting helicopters. Common basic emergency tools we don’t have in them country. When you see some of the fire service cars moving u feel sad that do we have thinking leaders at all? Shame on our leaders”.

Another stated, “I just only hope that innocent people’s shops weren’t burnt down because of a political stunt! My sincere sympathy to the victims ❤️”.

“Instead of seeking education, insuring your properties and life you foolishly campaign for NPP .dont worry Otumfour will build it for u”, a netizen also added.
