Akua Donkor, the founder and leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), has been laid to rest today Saturday, 29 March 2025.
The late Akua Donkor’s final burial rites were held at her hometown of Ejuratia.
Family, friends, political allies, and members of the public gathered to pay their last respects.
Madam Akua Donkor was laid to rest at her final resting place, where family, friends, and loved ones gathered to bid her a heartfelt farewell.
Akua Donkor passed on at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital on Monday, October 28 while preparing for contest in the December polls for the third time after her previous attempts in 2012 and 2016 failed.
She was known for her bold personality and firm commitment to grassroots politics, she championed the cause of farmers and women, becoming a unique figure in Ghana’s politics.
Akua Donkor was known for her staunch stance on issues that mattered most to Ghanaians.
Her legacy as a brave leader and an advocate for social change will be remembered for generations.
As Ghanaians bid farewell, tributes continue to pour in from all corners of the country, celebrating her life and impact.
Meanwhile, a thanksgiving service will be held in her honour at the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
