According to reports some shop owners attempted to defy the ravaging fire to salvage their goods.

It has also been revealed that a shop owner had to be forced out, and at a point, a ladder was needed to evacuate him from danger.

The information available suggests Most of the shops deal in mobile phones and accessories, jewellery, and clothing.

An eyewitness account claims the fires started from a touching electricity pole in the area, leading to a sparkle on the top floor of one of the buildings.

Meanwhile, the Ghana National Fire Service and the Ghana Police Service are at the scene but is facing difficulties accessing the building.
