A viral video has surfaced of Adum Kumasi flooded after a few minutes of heavy rain in the early hours of today 26 March 2025.

This comes a few the blaze, which ravaged dozens of shops, and left traders reeling from the loss of goods worth millions of Ghana cedis.

A two-story building housing several shops in the central business district of Adum in Kumasi caught fire.

The fire happened at the popular Blue Light arena, close to Hello FM.

Reports suggest the fire started around 6 am and spread rapidly as fire officers made attempts to contain the blaze.

According to the narrator in the video, the rain started around 8 in the morning and after a few minutes, the place got flooded.

A netizen reacting to the video of the flood criticised the traders for fighting against plans to rebuild the market after it got burnt last week, “Yet Our Traders want to rebuild the recently burned down market on their own. This is a clear testament to what poor planning and structures could do”.

Another stated, “Chale they should just allow for some renovations”.

Meanwhile, in Accra following a Tuesday evening downpour accompanied by strong wind Over 50 cars were destroyed at the A&C Mall parking lot as the mall solar panel collapsed.

A viral video shared on social media captured the Solar Panel covering the parking area destroyed and trapping several cars underneath.

Some trees in the car park have also fallen on some of the cars.

The heavy rainstorm in the capital, Accra on Tuesday evening caused significant damages and also uprooted a huge tree which damaged property and injured an innocent passerby.

The tree according to witnesses was uprooted by the heavy rains, falling on a vehicle. Fortunately, the vehicle had only one passenger who was trapped for a brief moment but was rescued by the collective efforts of residents and the police.

The individual received minor hand injuries and was quickly rushed to the Police Hospital for medical care after the rescue.

The storm also caused damage at the Accra College of Education, affecting campus structures, including part of a newly built washroom facility.

The storm which occurred on Tuesday, March 25, around 5 pm, also uprooted trees, causing further property damage and destroying students’ valuables.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported, although part of the campus has been left in darkness due to fallen electric poles.
