The information gathered alleged that unidentified gunmen allegedly stormed the house of former member of parliament Peter Amewu.
According to the reports, the incident happened on Wednesday, March 5.
Reports gathered suggest one of the assailants, who claimed to be a bailiff maintained they were acting on “orders from above”.
They stated Peter Amewu was not properly elected as an MP in the 2020 elections.
It has also been claimed that the unidentified gunmen allegedly fired shots which sparked a confrontation with the former MPs supporters.
At the time of the said event, Peter Amewu was not home.
Speaking on Citi FM, Peter Amewu detailed, “They said they were there to serve me a notice because I was not duly elected in 2020, hence their decision to serve me. And that the C.I was not constitutional.”
Peter Amewu further questioned Ghana’s democratic practice and revealed his supporters have reported the issue to the Ghana Police Service.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Hohoe, Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo has stated the people of Hohoe are very peaceful people and Peter Amewu to desist from tarnishing the reputation of the constituency.
Reacting to the news of alleged unidentified gunmen storming the home of the former MP Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo stated, “The former MP knows that the people of Hohoe, we have five traditional areas in Hohoe, we are a very peaceful people. That is why I said he should exercise patience when such things happen. You will think you are selling your party but you are giving Hohoe a bad name. I don’t think his life is in danger.
“We were in the constituency last two weeks together. He himself said in an interview that when he was the MP and a minister, he was driving alone, so he is safe,” he added.
Meanwhile, the private residence of the former Director of Operations at the Presidency, Lord Commey was also stormed by armed military according to reports.
The information gathered suggests the armed military men were dressed in mufti in a vehicle with registration number GW 4876-24.
Reports suggest the military men stormed his residence to tow away six cars alleged to belong to the Ghana government.
On January 31, 2025, at around 10 pm, the military men stormed the leading member of the opposition NPP private residence.
On 11 February 2025, news broke that twelve individuals in military and police uniforms led by well-known businessman and NDC member Richard Jakpa had invaded the residence of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
The information gathered suggests the men stormed Ken Ofori Atta’s home in Cantonments while he was reportedly out of the country.
The reports suggest that 12 individuals, five in military uniforms, and one in a police uniform with the rest in ordinary clothes.
