A netizen has reacted to a church flier of the embattled former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau, Kwabena Adu Boahene.
According to the netizen, thieves don’t always come with tattoos and dreadlocks.
The netizen on X stated, “Thieves don’t always come with tattoos and dreadlocks…”, adding an Assemblies of God flier program of which Kwabena Adu Boahene is the speaker on the theme, “Bible and Security”.
His comment comes after the media briefing of the Minister for Justice and Attorney General (AG), Dr Dominic Ayine about the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau, Kwabena Adu Boahene alleged corruption.
The Attorney General yesterday 24 March fingered the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB) Kwabena Adu-Boahene for allegedly diverting over $7m into private accounts.
According to the Attorney General, Kwabena Adu-Boahene was arrested for financial misconduct relating to a $7 million cyber defence system contract.
The Attorney General further revealed Kwabena Adu-Boahene laundered state funds through real estate investments in Accra and abroad.
The deputy Deputy Director of EOCO Raymond Archer led an arrest of the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau Mr Kwabena Adu Boahene at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
According to reports, Kwabena Adu Boahene was arrested a while ago on his arrival at the Kotoka International Airport.
Dr Ayine disclosed, “In his capacity as Director of the National Signals Bureau, Mr Adu-Boahene on January 30, 2020, signed a contract on behalf of the government of Ghana and the National Security on one hand and the other hand, an Israeli company named RLC Holdings Limited.
The contract was for the purchase of a cyber defence system software at a price of $7 million.”
“On February 6, 2020, he then transferred an initial amount of GH¢27,100,000 from the National Signals Bureau account at Fidelity Bank to a private BNC account at UMB.
Official documentation on the transfer reveals that the amount was for the payment of cyber defence system software. He transferred the money to his private company”, he added.
The Attorney General further added that Adu-Boahene and his wife purchased several landed properties in Ghana and abroad over the time that these monies hit their private accounts.
Additionally, the member of parliament for Old Tafo Ekow Assafuah has also reacted to the news of Adu Boahene.
According to him, what he had seen is scary and he would not support it if these allegations were to be true that indeed Adu Boahene siphoned state resources into your personal accounts.
He further warned New Patriotic Party (NPP) members not to go and defend the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau, Kwabena Adu Boahene.
According to Ekow Assafuah, he did not know Adu Boahene until the Minister for Justice and Attorney General (AG) media briefing yesterday about his alleged corruption.
Speaking on the JOYNEWS AM show, Vincent Ekow Assafuah stated, “I am warning NPP members “In fact, until yesterday [Monday], I had not even heard of Kwabena. I don’t even know him, even though he served as CEO or Director-General under my government,” he said.
“I will never hold brief for anybody who is found to be engaging in corruption. From what I have seen, it is scary, and I will not support it if these allegations are to be true that indeed you siphon state resources into your personal accounts”
“If this is true, I am warning party persons, NPP persons, in the event that this is proven, please don’t go and defend it because we are building a nation,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Dr Justice Srem-Sai, the Deputy Attorney General has revealed that the former National Signals Bureau (NSB) Director Kwabena Adu Boahene and his wife, Angela Adjei Boateng are still in custody.
