Giving a detailed breakdown to the Accra High Court, she revealed the accused person stole a staggering  $410,000, €300,000, and GHS350,000 from her storage, and also her jewellery, valued at $53,000.

Cecilia Dapaah revealed that staggering and other valuables were acquired over three decades.

Her two former female housekeepers are in court accused of stealing $761,000 from Cecilia Dapaah’s storage and $53,000 worth of jewellery and also other valuable items, including her husband’s clothing.

It will be recalled Cecilia Dapaah and her husband filed a theft case in which monies over $1 million and 300,000 euros were stolen from their homes, this development triggered commotion in Ghana with many Ghanaians questioning why a minister of state would have such huge sums of money at home.

Two of Cecilia Dapaah’s house-help were accused of stealing a significant amount of her personal property, including cash, jewellery, and others.

The alleged thefts occurred between July and October 2022 with the two accused, 18-year-old Patience Botwe and 30-year-old Sarah Agyei charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and five counts of stealing.

Three other individuals were also fingered in the Cecilia Dapah theft case as Ms Botwe’s current and former boyfriends and her father.

They are also facing charges for allegedly being involved in the crime. They have been respectively charged with falsely receiving GH¢1 million, GH¢180,000, and GH¢50,000.

According to the court reports, Patience Botwe was caught entering the couple’s room with a duplicate key, leading to her arrest.

The information revealed that the two purchased properties and expensive items with the stolen money.

In July 2023 the Office of the Special Prosecutor initiated an investigation into the suspected corruption and corruption-related offences regarding the huge sums of money.

The office of the Special Prosecutor some month ago made another revelation regarding the former Sanitation Minister, Cecilia Dapaah’s dead brother.

According to a new development, the dead brother of Cecilia Dapaah’s bank account is still active and keeps transferring money to her.

This follows an attempt by OSP to seize millions of cash from the former Minister and order the freezing of some bank accounts with over ¢40 million transactions.

The Office of the Special Prosecutor case was not successful despite Madam Dapaah stepping down from her role as minister with her source of wealth being questioned.
