The former member of parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sara Adwoa Safo has recounted some unsavoury comments directed at her father by Mike Oquaye junior.
According to Sara Adwoa Safo, Mike Oquaye jnr told her to go and help her father on the farm and that his father has been an MP before so he should be made to run.
Speaking on OKAY FM, Sara Adwoa Safo narrated, “Has his father been to parliament before, some whose father is a farmer, she should go and far, with her father, he is the one whose father has been a member of parliament before and has been to school so they should give it to him, look at him today.
When you insult an old person like this, when you are done you claim the people of Kristo Asafo didn’t vote, when they cut us is it water that comes out? You could stand and claim even the Kristo Asafo how many are they”.
Adwoa Safo further revealed that Mike Oquaye Junior during the campaign period never visited any of the Christo Asafo churches but claimed the people of Kristo Asafo did not vote.
She revealed that the new member of parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Faustina Elikplim Akurugu visited the church four times.
She added, “Mike Oquaye Junior never visited any of our churches Akurugu came there four times, that is where the man himself is, and we have three more branches, Mike Oquauye Junior never stepped there.
During the Christmas period, this man was doing a Technological exhibition, the NDC lady I don’t know her and I do not care about care, but she knew that if she was going to make it or not she had to respect the elders”.
The former MP added, “She came to church four times, during the Technological convention this woman came there with an NDC scarf on her head. Then you Oquaye will go and tell party leaders that I brought the woman to my father’s convention when I was fighting for the position as an MP, I visited the Mosque, I went to Makers House Chapel, I even went to Isreal King of Jews”.
The Electoral Commission (EC) officially declared Faustina Elikplim Akurugu of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the Member of Parliament-elect for the Dome Kwabenya constituency in the Greater Accra Region, following the December 7 election.
The declaration follows a dispute between the two major parties, the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), over the winner of the contest.
Ballot papers in the Dome Kwabenya constituency were reportedly set on fire, according to reports, the ballot papers were burnt after they were intercepted on their way to the collation centre.
The Dome Kwabenya seat has traditionally been a stronghold of the NPP.
The NPP candidate, Mike Oquaye Jr, garnered 50,669 votes, while Faustina Akurugu of the NDC secured 50,967 votes.
Meanwhile, Sara Adwoa Safo has boldly told Professor Mike Oquaye to tell the New Patriotic Party members why his son lost the Dome-Kwabenya seat in the 2024 election.
She asserted that Professor Mike Oquaye is writing a report on the NPP’s miserable defeat in the 2024 elections.
According to Adwoa Safo, before they believe Professor Mike Oquaye’s report he must first tell them why his son lost the Dome-Kwabenya seat to the NDC.
