Former Gender and Social Protection Minister, Sara Adwoa Safo has boldly told Professor Mike Oquaye to tell the New Patriotic Party members why his son lost the Dome-Kwabenya seat in the 2024 election.
Adwoa Safo noted that Professor Mike Oquaye is writing a report on the NPP’s miserable defeat in the 2024 elections.
According to Adwoa Safo, before they believe Professor Mike Oquaye’s report he must first tell them why his son lost the Dome-Kwabenya seat to the NDC.
Speaking on Accra-based Asempa FM Adwoa Safo detailed, “What did he do, look they didn’t want to tell the truth at the party, What did Dr Bawumia do, as a flagbearer, Dr Bawumia was still number two he was the mate if he talked if they liked them they accepted it, if not they reject it, that is exactly what happened”.
“Those writing the report, I am saying, Professor Mike Oquaye who is writing the report, the first page he should start from Dome-Kwabenya his backyard, he should start from there”, she added.
Adwoa Safo further disclosed, “What they are saying Dr Bawumia has done this and that and Ghanaians do not like him, that is what they have started with, I am telling Professor Mike Oquaye the report.
Dome Kwabenya must be on page one and he should write about why his son lost the Dome Kwabenya if he can tell us, the remainder of the report we will accept it otherwise we will take the Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu report that is genuine.
Charity begins at home if he knows how to write and give a report, he should put Dome-Kwabenya on page one before he gets to Dr Bawumia”, she emphasised.
“If he can tell us the reason why a man went to the contest and I a woman at the age of 29 years was able to contest and keep the seat for 12 years for the party every election the vote was also increasing and why his son lost the seat if he can tell us, he can blame Dr Bawumia for the NPP defeat if that is not the case he should take out Dr Bawumia”, she boldly reiterated.
Meanwhile, Adwoa Safo further addressed allegations surrounding her role in the controversial Speaker of Parliament election that led to Alban Bagbin becoming speaker.
Adwoa Safo stated, “I want to make it clear that I did not vote against Mike Oquaye”.
Additionally, Adwoa Safo admitted that the former Akufo-Addo government treated Ghanaians badly. “We know the bad treatment we gave to Ghanaians as a party. People were talking, and they were not listening. MPs complained, and their constituencies were targeted, and they were removed because they were against the government, but they were speaking the truth”, she stated.
