Afenyo-Markin had claimed that during the operation, personal belongings, including jewellery and money belonging to Addison’s wife, were stolen by the security personnel.

Addressing these allegations at a press conference on Monday, March 24, 2025, Dr. Ayine dismissed them as baseless and an “insult to the security service.”

“If Afenyo-Markin is daring me, I will make that recording available, so he should resist maligning law enforcement officers who are conducting investigations, and myself for the work we are doing,” Dr. Ayine warned.

He further assured the public that all investigative procedures were conducted ethically and in the best interest of the nation.

The National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) has stated that no money or jewellery was taken from the residence of Dr Ernest Addison.

According to reports the NIB has denied the minority leader’s allegations that they stole about 10,000 cedis and jewellery, from the the former BoG boss’s home household.

Afenyo Markin in a press conference yesterday accused the operatives of led by Richard Jakpa of stealing.

Speaking to the press, Afenyo Markin called on President Mahama to leave a legacy by putting an end to the National Security raids.

He further revealed that the minority are tired of the intimidation, the attacks, and the hypocrisy.

Afenyo Markin stated, “President John Dramani Mahama, please leave a legacy. Let it be said that even if there were excesses in the exercise of executive power when you had the opportunity, you changed it for good. Own that legacy in your name. We are tired of the intimidation, the attacks, and the hypocrisy”.

“At the end of their raid, they found nothing. Unfortunately, some GH₵10,000 that was on the governor’s bed was missing. Some of these hungry foot soldiers, parading as National Security operatives, took the opportunity to steal. The governor’s wife’s earrings and necklaces were also not found, in other words, they stole them,” he alleged.
