Three people have reportedly died in a fatal accident on the Techiman-Wenchi highway.
According to reports, the accident happened yesterday 27 March 2025 on Nkonsia on the Techiman-Wenchi highway in the the Bono Region.
The information gathered suggests the collision between a KIA Rhino, with registration number AS 7102-13 and loaded with cashew nuts, and a Daewoo Matiz taxi, with registration number GN 356-19.
The impact of the crash left the Daewoo Matiz taxi mangled, resulting in the immediate death of two male passengers.
A female passenger was later pronounced dead at the Wenchi Methodist Hospital.
Meanwhile, some Ghanaians have shared their thoughts on the sad development and tragic loss of lives on the Techiman-Wenchi highway. Road safety must be a priority, too many lives are cut short in preventable accidents. May they rest in peace”.
“A lot of times, the carelessness of a driver causes the lives of passengers who kept quiet and watched him drive carelessly…most of these accidents are avoidable to be honest…🙄🤦🏽♂️ Reckless overtaking and speeding may seem fun until something like this happens. 🧎🏽♂️”, another stated.
A netizen also complained about the poor roads in the country, “Our roads aren’t good. People have a driver’s license but haven’t visited the DVLA before”.
“Aw so sad !! Ministry of Roads and Highways and DVLA have to come out with these road usage campaigns. Some roads need road signs while most drivers need driving attitude advise. We can’t continue like this 💔”, another stated.
One X user added, “I was on my way to Techiman yesterday and saw the accident. That particular junction that forks into Sunyani/Techiman from Wenchi is an accident-prone zone. May they rest in peace 🤲🏾”
