President John Dramani Mahama has taken to his social media page on X to officially announce that his X account has been restored.
In a post on X, the official account of President Mahama stated, “ My team has restored my account, working with the X support team. Thank you for your enquiries and offers to assist. #LetsBuildGhanaTogether”.
Felix Ofosu Kwakye, the Minister of State In Charge Of Government Communications had earlier revealed President John Dramani Mahama X’s account had been hacked.
According to Felix Ofosu Kwakye, some people have compromised Mahama’s X account.
He further revealed that efforts are underway to recover the account.
This comes 48 hours after President Mahama’s X account was used to shockingly promote an African memecoin.
The hacked account of the President posted, “Financial inclusion isn’t just a need for Ghana—it’s essential for all of Africa. With its low transaction costs, #Solana could be the key to driving fintech growth and enabling cryptocurrency payments & investments across the continent. Stay tuned for more details soon”.
Addressing the issue, Felix Ofosu Kwakye spoke to GH ONE TV saying, “There’s been a hack. Some unscrupulous persons have compromised it but efforts are underway to recover it and I am sure it will be recovered soon”.
Meanwhile, Ghanaians have raised concern saying, “How can the president of Ghana’s X account be hacked, and why has it not been restored after nearly 48 hours?”.
“the president’s account koraa is hacked, how much more Trackers for galamsey excavators”, another wrote.
An X user also stated if it was the former Akufo-Addo government Ghanaians and the NDC would be shouting someone has to be sacked, he stated, “If it were to be the previous administration, like by now they will be chatting someone should resign. Ahhhh, I’m even ashamed, this is embarrassing 🙄😄”.
One user added, “A whole president account has been hacked and u can’t recover it how can they even fix the country”.
However, Kwadwo Sheldon has boldly claimed the account isn’t hacked and that the NDC government knows what they are doing.
He wrote, “ The account isn’t hacked.. they know what they are doing but vim !!🔥🔥🔥”.
Additionally, one user also added, “ Hw3, they think they smart. We will also let everybody know what they are doing. Bro, we are matching these guys’ boots for boot oo😏.NDCfo),3b3 gye )mo nsa🙄”.
