A man of God has gone down on his knees to send a humble plea to the President, John Dramani Mahama.
According to the man of God, John Mahama should recall all newly installed ECG Prepaid meters installed during the former Akufo-Addo tenure.
He noted that the high cost of utilities burdened Ghanaian households.
Speaking to his congregants the man of God knelt and pleaded with John Mahama saying, “If I have to go down on my knees, I will go down on my knees, President Mahama, those meters that the ECG brought during Akufo-Addo’s tenure recall all those Prepaid meters”.
He further added, “Any country that is being governed they look at the poor and the rich, if someone has a company set the standards and give that person a company meter, if someone has a house give that person a house meter, how much are we getting that an old woman will buy 200 cedis prepaid credit and will finish in one week.
If the rich get the power they rule and embezzle Africa, if a white man gets the power he uses it to develop his country. African leaders are wicked”.
The man of God continued, “Mr Mahama, President Mahama I know you know what is between us I am telling you that you listened when I brought something to you. A lot talk but they don’t know the secret. I decrease for God to increase”.
Some months ago, a woman also called out the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) over the increasing cost of utilities, despite using just a few electrical appliances with minimal consumption.
According to the ECG customer, Ghanaians should not be trying to figure out how they are going to eat and put money in their light.
She has made an urgent plea to the management of the company for a review of the current electricity rates.
Meanwhile, some Ghanaians have supported the plea made by the man of God, “This is a plea I hope it happens. That meter dey drink monies pass. 😪 Something needs to be done about it else …else I go do what I have to do”.
Another stated, “I was talking to one ECG friend of mine the other day and Chale the new meters in town be Killa. E deh pull like water and according to him it’s a big worry for Ghanaians. They’ve been adjusted in a way just to milk Ghanaians. We need to fix this problem coz many deh suffer”.
A netizen also wrote, “If this will work each and every household must have their own pre-paid metres to solve this issue. Again we must use electricity wisely not all the time too and lights must be own. Thank thanks”.
Similarly, a user also claimed Ghanaians need education on prepaid meters, “Ghanaians need a little education on this metering system, the meter is just like a phone and it records what you consume but what makes the meter run are the tariffs set by the distributor on the said meter. So it’s about the tariffs and not the meter”, he added.
Additionally, another user stated, “Well, when the “light bill” starts looking like rent, even the Men of God have to step in! Hopefully, President @JDMahama listens because at this rate, some people might start praying for divine intervention before checking their meters”.
