The former flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kennedy Agyapong is trending on social media page X formerly known as Twitter as netizens are mounting pressure on him as the main suspect in Ahmed Suale murder.
The former lawmaker is trending after the Ghana Police Service issued a statement announcing the arrest of a suspect in the death of Investigative Journalist Ahmed Suale.
According to some netizens on X, Kennedy Agyapong is responsible for the death of Ahmed.
Another also asserted that Kennedy Agyapong was responsible for the death of Ahmed Suale. It’s very evident.
The netizen comments come after the Ghana Police Service yesterday, 17 March 2025 suddenly announced that an arrest had been made in their quest to solve the murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale.
According to the Police, the suspect was a close friend of Ahmed Suale and had been accused of selling him out to a popular politician in Ghana by releasing his photos before her murder.
Kennedy Agyapong on his TV station on NET 2 stated, “The boy that’s very dangerous, he lives in Madina just here, when you meet him, beaten up, if he ever comes to our premises I am saying beat him up, whatever happens, I will pay. Because he is bad, Ahmed shows their pictures and let’s see, the boy that’s him, if he comes here beat him”.
Ahmed Suale was tragically shot and killed in a ride-by shooting near his home in Madina, a suburb of the capital, Accra after Kennedy Agyapong’s utterances.
Eyewitnesses said he was killed by two men who fired at the car from close range as it slowed for a junction. The first bullet hit Hussein-Suale in the neck and the car accelerated, crashing into a storefront. One of the gunmen calmly approached the driver’s side and fired two shots through the broken window directly into Hussein-Suale’s chest. Then he turned to those watching, smiled, and raised a finger to his lips.
It is believed that the 31-year-old Ahmed was assassinated due to the investigative work he did with the Tiger Eye PI team and Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
His death came after the Tiger Eye team aired its famous Number 12 expose, which exposed widespread corruption in African football and led to the end of the illustrious career of the then Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kwesi Nyantakyi.
When the expose aired, then Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Agyapong began a campaign against the Anas team calling for Anas to be hanged.
Weeks after the expose aired, he used his television station to disclose the identity of Ahmed Suale and the neighbourhood in which he lived, saying, “If you meet him somewhere, slap him… beat him,” he said. “Whatever happens, I’ll pay.”
Investigations into the death of Ahmed are still ongoing with no lead into the identity of his killers so far.
Meanwhile, Kennedy Agyapong in an interview with TV3 clarified his comments, his comments were aimed at preventing Suale from entering his premises, asserting that Suale had been involved in setting up individuals and subsequently causing them harm.
He stated, “I still maintain it (views about Suale) because I will not come here today and tell you that I want to be president and therefore what is the truth, I will say it is not the truth, it is. He is a bad guy or he was and let me tell you, if you don’t have the evidence, Anas used him…all those people that Anas destroyed with his videos and everything.
“Anas never showed his face except this guy, this guy was bold to set everybody up. I have a lot of videos, gentleman if you have time and you come to my house, I will show you all the videos…all the entrapment, it was Ahmed Suale, who was sitting down with fake Arabs, who were saying that they were from the family of Shiek Al Thani, so until the video comes out you will never know that it is Anas,” he said.

According to Kennedy Agyapong 2 years ago, Ghana police briefed him on who killed Ahmed Suale but they never arrested anyone until yesterday a day after the swearing of the new IGP. It’s been 7 years since Ahmed was murdered in cold blood. #AbanPapaAba pic.twitter.com/3Ul4e4Rhb3

It’s disheartening that some well-meaning Ghanaians might still back Kennedy Agyapong for president.
In a nation striving for true progress, what qualifies him to lead?
Are we trivializing our country’s future?
How can he even entertain such an ambition?
Until Ghanaians…
