Albert Nat Hyde commonly known as Bongo Ideas has reacted to a video of President John Dramani Mahama sharing dates in a mosque with some Muslims.
According to Bongo Ideas, John Mahama is possibly the humblest leader right now, he further jabbed the New Patriotic Party saying they could not relate.
Bongo Ideas further asserted that it is not campaign season and John Mahama is not doing it for votes.
He wrote on X, “Mahama is sharing dates in a mosque meanwhile it’s not campaign season and he’s not doing it for votes. Possibly, the humblest leader rn. Yaanom can’t relate!”.
In the video that has since gone viral, John Mahama was captured along with the education minister Haruna Iddrisu going around with a serving tray of dates as he served the Muslims.
The Muslims who could not hide their excitement started shouting Allahu Akbar which translates as God is the greatest.
Some netizens have commented on the video shared by Bongo Ideas saying, “Mahama just being Mahama, no cameras, no staged drama, just pure generosity. Meanwhile, yaanom can’t step into a mosque without making it a full-blown press conference. Levels!”.
“Bibifoc ɛne nkwasea labelling. What’s the point in what you shared??? We have more pressing issues to solve than this rhetoric……Ciakwa”, another stated.
A netizen also wrote, “John Mahama has consistently demonstrated his depth of knowledge and leadership, not just for the cameras but through years of experience. Time and again, he has shown a level of competence that sets him apart, proving that his understanding of governance is not just rhetoric!!”.
“Massa, this Populist style of governance is outdated. We need the economy back on track and not some celebrity president”, an X user stated.
Similarly, a user stated, “He’s so humble and good to an extent that he can’t be wicked at once to tackle galamsey. Mr President, we Dey beg waaa, it’s getting out of hand”.
“Can someone find Akuffo Addo’s chair? We need to make him carry it and roam about Accra with it. That arrogant 3rd class dwarf messed and humiliated citizens too much. He couldn’t even avoid plagiarism”, an X user mocked.
Meanwhile, the Federation of Muslim Councils (FMC) has thanked President John Dramani Mahama for declaring his promise that they will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with two public holidays on March 31 and April 1, 2025.
The statement issued by the Federation of Muslim Councils and signed by Al-Hajj Muhammad Amir Kpakpo Addo acknowledged the President’s fulfilment of his campaign promise.
“We are grateful to President Mahama for recognizing the significance of Eid-ul-Fitr and declaring an additional public holiday to enable Muslims to celebrate this joyous occasion,” the statement read.
