Traders affected by the Adum Bluelight fire disaster in Kumasi, have issued an unqualified apology to the Minister of Interior, Muntaka Mubarak.
The apology comes after traders jeered and booed at the minister when he made a presentation of bags of rice, boxes of oil and soap to the traders as part of relief towards them.
On behalf of the traders, a young man who also conducts business in the market apologized to the minister, saying they were misled by the market leadership.

Interior Minister and Member of Parliament for Asawase, Muntaka Mubarak, has suffered humiliation at the hands of victims of the Adum PZ market fire disaster.
As part of efforts to offer relief to the fire victims, the Minister presented some 1,500 bags of rice, 800 boxes of cooking oil, and soap to them.
However, the traders were not moved by the kind gesture of the Minister, and rejected the donation chanting, “we don’t need rice”.
The affected traders expressed their dissatisfaction with the aid, stating that the donated goods do not align with their immediate needs, as they require financial assistance and business support to begin their recovery.
A two-story building housing several shops in the central business district of Adum in Kumasi caught fire.
The fire happened at the popular Blue Light arena, close to Hello FM.
Reports suggest the fire started around 6 am and spread rapidly as fire officers made attempts to contain the blaze.
According to reports some shop owners attempted to defy the ravaging fire to salvage their goods.
It has also been revealed that a shop owner had to be forced out, and at a point, a ladder was needed to evacuate him from danger.
The information available suggests Most of the shops deal in mobile phones and accessories, jewellery, and clothing.
An eyewitness account claims the fires started from a touching electricity pole in the area, leading to a sparkle on the top floor of one of the buildings.
Meanwhile, the Ghana National Fire Service are at the scene but is facing difficulties accessing the building.
