The Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has boldly declared the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will be back in the 2028 elections.

According to Afenyo Markin, the NPP minority in parliament are mighty minority but will be back in 2028.

Afenyo Markin made this known while leading a choir to sing some Ghanaian classical chorale music at JB Danquah’s 60th remembrance Service.

The minority leader also boldly sent a message to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) saying, “Mighty minority, we shall be back 2028, we shall be back”.

In the video shared on YouTube by  Dadzie TV Afenyo Markin was spotted in all white leading a choir sing.

Afenyo Markin was later captured leading the choir again as they sang the anthem of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during a dinner held at the residence of the Twafohene of Akyem Abuakwa.

Afenyo-Markin was yet again spotted in a jubilant mood, enthusiastically singing the anthem to the fascination of the audience present.

The NPP miserably lost the 2024 elections, according to the EC’s certified results, Mahama secured 6,591,790 votes, representing 56.42% of the total valid votes cast. His closest contender, Dr Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), garnered 4,877,611 votes, representing 41.75%.

Meanwhile, JB Danquah’s 60th Remembrance Service event was to mark the 60th Remembrance Service of Dr. John Boakye Danquah, popularly known as JB Danquah on Sunday, March 9, 2025.

JB Danquah was a key figure in Ghana’s political history who contested Dr Kwame Nkrumah in the April 1960 presidential election but lost.

JB Danquah on October 3, 1961was arrested under the Preventive Detention Act on allegations of plotting a coup to subvert the Convention People’s Party (CPP) and assassinate Dr. Nkrumah.

He was released in June 1962 and was later elected President of the Ghana Bar Association.

In January 1964 JB Danquah was arrested again without formal charges and was detained at the Nsawam Medium Prison.

JB Danquah died in February 1965 at the age of 69 while still in prison custody.

After Kwame Nkrumah and the CPP were overthrown in February 1966 by the National Liberation Council (NLC), he was buried by the state in recognition of his contributions to the country.
