Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), Sammy Gyamfi has said the New Patriotic Party are dumbfounded by the details of the 2025 Budget.
Sammy Gyamfi was reacting to comments made by the former finance minister Dr Amin Adam who labelled the NDC 2025 budget as a Sakawa budget.
According to Sammy Gyamfi, the NPP must not be taken seriously as they are completely dumbfounded by the details of this budget.
He asserted that the NPP has been silenced but they just have to pull out some theatrics to ginger their party base.
Speaking in an interview with TV3 New Day, Sammy Gyamfi stated, “Really, Sakawa budget, I wonder what his understanding of the word Sakawa is, look don’t take these guys seriously they are completely dumbfounded by the details of this budget.
They have been totalling silence, but they just have to pull out some theatrics to ginger their party base. Yesterday I was sitting in the gallery I saw some of their MPs I saw the look on their faces, it was like our party would collapse”.
Sammy Gyamfi added, “Stephen Amoah, sticka stepped out, even before Ato Forson completed his delivery of his statement and didn’t come back to the chamber, they could not believe that the NDC could introduce these far-reaching policies and fulfil 99.99 per cent almost 100 per cent of the promises contained in our 120 days social contract including promises we did not even make.
So when the former finance minister tells you that this is a Sakawa budget he is engaging in theatrics”, he stated boldly.
Meanwhile, Sammy Gyamfi in an earlier interview stated Dr Cassiel Ato Forson will make history as the country’s best Finance Minister ever.
Sammy Gyamfi eulogized the performance and aptness of Dr Ato Forson displayed over a short span of two months, describing his performance as unprecedented.
He praised Dr. Ato Forson for his ability to work judiciously to ensure the reduction to treasury bill rates from twenty-eight per cent (28%) to twenty per cent (20%).
“Let me praise Ato Forson. He is the best Finance Minister Ghana has ever had. We should brace ourselves for his performance which we will describe as the best,” he said in an interview.
Sammy Gyamfi reiterated, “I think he will go down as the best ever Finance Minister. Put today’s date on the line. A Finance Minister who is not even two months old, and t-bill rates have been reduced from twenty-eight per cent (28%) to twenty per cent (20%), that is unprecedented.”
He applauded Dr. Ato Forson for his consistent support and guidance in the execution of his (Sammy Gyamfi) work and the mandate of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC).
