Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications has debunked rumours claiming actress Joselyn Dumas has gained an appointment in the Mahama’s government.
It will be recalled, that news broke of Joselyn Dumas being appointed as the Deputy Director for Diaspora Affairs under President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.
Her new role will see her assisting Kofi Okyere-Darko (KOD), who was appointed as the Director of Diaspora Affairs a week before.
The minister’s comments come following speculations claiming actress Joselyn Dumas had been appointed as the Deputy Director of Diaspora Affairs at the Office of the President.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu revealed he can confirm the appointments of all other creative arts personalities to various positions in government except Miss Dumas.
“Miss Dumas has not been appointed to any such position. I can confirm that of the rest”, he boldly stated.
After assuming officer on January 7, 2025, President John Dramani Mahama has made key appointments in the creative arts industry.
So far, five renowned entertainment personalities from both the movie and music space have been appointed by President Mahama to serve in his administration.
Ghanaian actress and scriptwriter, Abla Dzifa Gomashie has been named Minister of Tourism, Culture and creative Arts. She assumes this role with over four (4) decades of experience in the movie industry.
John Dumelo, an actor has been appointed and approved as the Deputy Minister for Agriculture.
Media personality and tourism advocate, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey ‘Santana’ has been appointed as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Tourism Authority. His appointment was announced by the presidency on February 26, 2025.
Veteran highlife artiste, Rex Omar has also been appointed to the role of Presidential Staffer to coordinate the ‘Black Star Experience’.
Actor James Gardiner has also been appointed Deputy Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority.
Meanwhile, there have been wild speculations that President John Dramani Mahama plans to give an appointment to Ghanaian socialite Hajia Bintu.
According to the reports, the Mahama administration is seeking to appoint Hajia Bintu to the diplomatic corps.
Hajia Bintu is said to be pencilled for appointment as a peace ambassador.
This news has sent shockwaves through the Ghanaian community, with many questioning the academic qualifications of Hajia Bintu to be appointed into such a critical role.
