Albert Nat Hyde commonly known as Bongo Ideas has boldly stated that the former flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kennedy Agyapong is responsible for the death of Ahmed Suale.
The comment made by Bongo ideas comes after the Ghana Police Service yesterday, 17 March 2025 suddenly announced that an arrest had been made in their quest to solve the murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale.
According to the Police, the suspect was a close friend of Ahmed Suale and had been accused of selling him out to a popular politician in Ghana by releasing his photos before her murder.
Albert Nat Hyde boldly claimed that it was very evident that the popular politician in Ghana was Kennedy Agyapong.
Bongo Ideas in a post on X stated, “Kennedy Agyapong is responsible for the death of Ahmed Suale. It’s very evidential!!!”.
Ahmed Suale was tragically shot and killed in a ride-by shooting near his home in Madina, a suburb of the capital, Accra.
Eyewitnesses said he was killed by two men who fired at the car from close range as it slowed for a junction. The first bullet hit Hussein-Suale in the neck and the car accelerated, crashing into a storefront. One of the gunmen calmly approached the driver’s side and fired two shots through the broken window directly into Hussein-Suale’s chest. Then he turned to those watching, smiled, and raised a finger to his lips.
It is believed that the 31-year-old Ahmed was assassinated due to the investigative work he did with the Tiger Eye PI team and Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
His death came after the Tiger Eye team aired its famous Number 12 expose, which exposed widespread corruption in African football and led to the end of the illustrious career of the then Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kwesi Nyantakyi.
When the expose aired, then Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Agyapong began a campaign against the Anas team calling for Anas to be hanged.
Weeks after the expose aired, he used his television station to disclose the identity of Ahmed Suale and the neighbourhood in which he lived, saying, “If you meet him somewhere, slap him… beat him,” he said. “Whatever happens, I’ll pay.”
Investigations into the death of Ahmed are still ongoing with no lead into the identity of his killers so far.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament (MP) for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare-Obeng commonly known as A Plus has also threatened to disclose the name of the politician who ordered the killing of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale.
According to A Plus, the Criminal Investigative Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service was provided with credible information to investigate the said politician since 2024 but they have refused to take action.
In a post on his official Facebook page, A Plus demanded an immediate update on the investigations into the death of Ahmed Suale.
“Last year, I was invited to the CID headquarters to provide information regarding the murder of Ahmed Suale. During the meeting, I identified a high-profile minister from the previous government who was allegedly involved in contracting assailants to carry out the crime. I also disclosed my source, a highly credible one, in the presence of the CID director.”
“It is critical that the CID director updates the public on the progress of the investigation and indicate with justification whether additional time is required,” he wrote on Facebook.
A Plus added, “At this point, it appears the matter has been sidelined. If no update is provided within 48 hours, I will invoke my authority as a Member of Parliament to formally summon the Ghana Police Service to brief Parliament on this case.”
He added that if this move fails, “I will utilize my Facebook and other social media platforms to update the nation on what I know about the matter which shall include the name of the alleged perpetrator.
