Ghanaian YouTube personality Kwadwo Sheldon has lashed out at his own New Patriotic Party (NPP) over their plans to deliver a true State of the Nation Address on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
According to Kwadwo Sheldon, he cannot believe this is his party and asserted that the NPP just left office like just yesterday.
Kwadwo Sheldon noted that things he expected the NPP to do they are not doing them rather they are engaged in nonsense things.
He wrote on X, “ “Real state of the Nation Address” Niqqa, this NPP party paaa di3 .. you mmom Dey come tell us the real state of the nation? No be yesterday you lef office? If you don’t gidifok eeh!! Ah chale things e Dey dey need say my party go do dem no go do!! So so nonsense things .. tws”.
According to the NPP, President John Dramani Mahama’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) delivered on February 27, 2025, the NPP claims omitted critical national issues and misrepresented the current state of Ghana.
In a statement signed by the Chairman of the NPP Stephen Ntim on February 28, the party highlighted several pressing issues that were allegedly overlooked in the President’s speech.
Part of the statement read, “ In just a few weeks under his administration, alarming developments have surfaced, including Deteriorating Power Supply: Ghanaians are experiencing worsening electricity instability, threatening businesses and livelihoods. Security Challenges: A noticeable decline in national security, particularly in the northern regions, has heightened concerns over public safety”.
Rising Illegal Mining (Galamsey) and Violence: The resurgence of illegal mining. Accompanied by violent incidents in Obuasi, poses severe environmental and security risks.
Employment Crisis: The government’s mass cancellation of public sector recruitments and appointments has exacerbated unemployment, deepening economic uncertainty”, the NPP stated.
The NPP statement added, “In light of this, the New Patriotic Party, through its leadership in Parliament, led by Hon. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markin, will present the True State of the Nation Address to offer Ghanaians a factual and objective account of the nation’s condition.
We remain committed to ensuring transparency, accountability, and responsible governance”, they stated.
Meanwhile, President John Dramani Mahama has revealed Ghana’s state of the nation is not good.
John Mahama boldly stated the Ghanaian people are suffering an unprecedented crisis.
According to John Mahama, his administration will solve Ghana’s economic crisis by the end of his four-year term.
The president asserted that he understood why he was elected with such high voter confidence and that was to solve Ghana’s problems.
