The Ghanaian man speaking in a short self-recorded video in his Russian military uniform stated, “This George Floyd whose face is ugly, you are saying I look like him. How do I look like George Floyd, they have snapped my mouth and snapped his mouth. I beg you I don’t know George Floyd for anywhere.

On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, an African-American man, died in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the US after Derek Chauvin, a white American Minneapolis police officer and three others handcuffed him lying face down on a city street during an arrest and kept his knee on the right side of Floyd’s neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds; according to the criminal complaint against Chauvin.

Floyd became unresponsive and died.

The development sparked a series of demonstrations and protests across many cities in the US and other countries.

Meanwhile, some Ghanaians under the post have reacted to the video of the Ghanaian man, saying, “ Eish this is serious and hilarious…….Anyways It’s important to verify facts before jumping to conclusions. Rumors can easily spread, but the truth always comes to light”.

“In the realm of global journalism, Saudi Arabia stands out as a country that significantly undermines the principles of integrity and reliability. Their recent statement lacks the foundation of thorough research and due diligence, casting doubt on its credibility”, another stated.

Additionally, an X user wrote, “I fear for this guy and his family back here in Ghana…don’t ask me why”.

Similarly another compared the Saudi Arabian news network Alarabiya to Ghanaian station Wontumi TV. “Hahahahahahaahah this people fool like wuntumi TV station”.
