Koku Anyidoho in a post on X claimed, that Prof Ransford Gyampo no longer cares about the issues of galamsey and UTAG because he now sleeps in a ship.

Anyidoho in a post on X sarcastically questioned Prof Gyamp if he no longer cares about the issues regarding illegal mining (galamsey) and matters concerning UTAG.

Prof. Gyampo is known for his vocal criticism of the government, especially on issues affecting university lecturers and galamsey.

Koku Anyidoho’s post suggests that Prof Gyampo’s recent appointment has led to his lack of concern for galamsey issues and the UTAG.

He wrote on X with an alleged picture of Prof Gyampo sleeping in a massage chair. “ He no more cares about galamsey and UTAG huh??? He now sleeps in a ship abi?”.

The Director of Communication for the 2024 Bawumia Campaign Team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, claims Professor Ransford Gyampo has played both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to him, Professor Ransford Gyampo all this while has been interested in championing his own agenda, rather than supposedly championing the cause of Ghanaians.

In an interview, he stated, “Prof. Gyampo had more access to the NPP government than anyone else, so why is he now making a U-turn to join the NDC?”

Meanwhile, Nana Obiri Boahen, a former Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has also fired shots at Prof Gyampo.

According to Nana Obiri Boahen, UG lecturers who were vocal during the erstwhile Akufo-Addo Bawumia administration have now remained silent after receiving appointments in the NDC government.

He asserted that  Professor Ransford Gyampo who used to write and criticize the government has gone quiet, he noted that only some black intellectuals would behave like this.

Nana Obiri Boahen added, “But now, Gyampo, who used to write and criticize the government and received praise for it, has gone quiet since getting a position. I haven’t seen him tweeting anymore,”

“It is only some black intellectuals who behave like this. I am being frank with you. Now, he is quiet…”

“This kind of behaviour does not reflect well on us as intellectuals. All the attacks and criticism against Akufo-Addo, where are they now? Now that they have positions, they are silent,”
