Blakk Rasta a Ghanaian reggae artist and media personality has fired shots at Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.

Blakk Rasta noted that Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo’s true chameleon colours started showing after her appointment.

According to Blakk Rasta, Chief Justice Torkornoo is a woman who has shown no respect for patriotism for this country as she is overly partisan.

Speaking on his show on 3FM, Blakk Rasta stated, “The first thing she did was run to the church and thank God for where she found herself. She was seen as a no-nonsense woman whose heart beat for Ghana, but in no time, her true chameleon colours started showing in various ways.”

He was further questioned by the Chief Justice is still in office saying, “Why on earth is Gertrude Torkornoo sitting there for? This is a woman who has shown no respect for patriotism for this country. She is overly partisan. I love women in high positions but not corrupt, thieving women.

“Not dishonest women who hide several millions of hard currencies under their beds… Gertrude Torkornoo should have long been relegated to the hole that Nana Addo finds himself right now,” he added.

Blakk Rasta further revealed he was excited when the Chief Justice was named and applauded her.

“When she was appointed, I was one of those who applauded her. I love to see women rise in a country that has the least respect for women. My heart skips several beats in jubilation”, he detailed.

Blakk Rasta’s comments come after Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister for Government Communications has revealed that President John Dramani Mahama has taken a step in addressing three petitions submitted by individuals to boot out the Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkonoo.

According to the presidency statement, President Mahama has forwarded the petitions to the Council of State to begin the mandated consultation process.

The announcement was made on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

Meanwhile, Gertrude Torkonoo, the Chief Justice has penned a letter to President John Dramani Mahama demanding copies of petitions seeking her removal.

According to the Chief Justice’s letter, she is demanding President Mahama grant her seven days to review the petition upon receiving copies to allow her to respond properly before a Committee of Inquiry.

Moreover, the Member of Parliament for Old Tafo Vincent Ekow Assafuah has filed a lawsuit at the Supreme Court of Ghana seeking to stop President John Dramani Mahama from initiating the removal process of Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo.
