An X user identified as @Oh_Menua has lashed out at Director of Communications for the 2024 Presidential Campaign of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dennis Miracle Aboagye.

The netizen who is a staunch sympathizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) called out Miracles Aboagye for relying on “cheap propaganda” and destroying the NPP more in the sight of Ghanaians.

His reactions comes on the back of Miracles Aboagye saying President John Dramani Mahama turned Ghana’s 68th Independence Day celebration into the National Democratic Congress thanksgiving service.

According to Miracles Aboagye, President Mahama only invited members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the celebration at the Jubilee House, leaving Ghanaians standing on the roadside desperately trying to watch the celebration.

Speaking in an interview on Wontumi TV on March 17, 2025, Dennis Miracles Aboagye claimed, “He made Ghanaians stand on the roadside to watch the March 6 celebration at the Jubilee House. That day, I was very sad when I passed by. This was something the TV stations did not show, so many people did not realize what happened.”

“The March 6 celebration was an NDC event. They didn’t open it up to the people of Ghana. They turned it into a thanksgiving service for the NDC while ordinary Ghanaians stood behind the fence watching.”

@Oh_Menua who took offence to this comment indicated that such statements make it harder “for Ghanaians to forgive us (NPP) for the challenges we left behind.”

He added that such careless statements from Miracles Aboagye although not the official stance of the party, may be perceived as such because he “well-respected spokesperson for the party.”

The netizen charged the NPP as a whole to be rethink its communication strategy.

“t’s time to rethink our communication strategy—be smart about it. Ghanaians can now see through cheap propaganda. Let’s acknowledge our mistakes, show sincerity, and be objective in our messaging.”

Dear @DennisMiracles,

I say this out of love and our shared belief in the great Elephant party. Statements like this only make it harder for Ghanaians to forgive us for the challenges we left behind. We must show genuine remorse for how we mismanaged our dear country.
