Ghanaians on social media have reacted to Tema Senior High School choir performing “Ayɛ Hu” at the 68th Independence Day celebration.
The song which was composed by Yaw Owusu Asiamah and performed by the Temasco choir has sparked widespread reactions on social media.
The Tema SHS choir captivated audiences at the Independence Day celebration with the Ayɛ Hu which they sang in Twi highlighted the country’s national issues resonating with many Ghanaians.
“Our roads, our water, our education, and our health are all not good. The country has become scary for the future generation. Everyone must rise up to save the country”, a portion of the song translated into English stated.
Following the performance some Ghanaians have taken to social media to express their opinions.
According to some Ghanaians, the song should be played every morning on all media platforms, another stated indeed the country has become scary.
A few months ago Tema Senior High School were in the news after some of their students were captured sitting on the floor due to a lack of chairs in their classrooms.
Tema Secondary School is a day and boarding school established and commissioned on 22nd September 1961, by Ghana’s first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the 68th Independence Day celebration that took place at the Jubilee House cost Ghana GhS1.5 million,
According to the Information Service Department, the event cost the country 1.5 million cedis which is only a one-tenth of what it would have cost to it at the independence Square.
President John Dramani Mahama during the 68th Independence Day revealed this year’s scaled-back Independence Day celebration has saved the country 95% of the original budget.
According to John Mahama, the modest durbar was held due to Ghana’s economic hardship.
John Mahama revealed that a budget of GHC20 million was proposed for the event if it were to be hosted at Independence Square.

Indeed “Ay3 Hu” I suggest this song would be translated in all languages and be played in all radio & Tv stations and information centers in all communities across the country. Because the rate at which people are losing their conscience in the name of party affiliates is insane.
