Ghanaian Broadcaster, Bridget Otoo has pleaded with President John Mahama to appoint her Director-General of state broadcaster, GTV for just a week.

According to her, she will use that week to shake up things at GTV.

In a post on X, she wrote, “Dear @JDMahama Could you please appoint me as DG of  @GTV_Ghana for one week? I want to do something small for there.”

Immediately she made her post, the X handle of GTV quickly responded asking her to send her job application to the National Media Commission (NMC) and not President Mahama.

“Dear @Bridget_Otoo, the job application you’ve written should rather be sent to the National Media Commission and not @JDMahama. As a journalist, I’m sure you know the NMC is the appointing body of the GBC D-G,” they responded.

In a quick response, Bridget Otoo came back to ask if the NMC was still functioning and insited that although going through the NMC may be the idal, the real appointing authority will get them to do the right thing.

“Which board? The one with Ayeboafo, Boamah, etc? Are they still functioning? just as you believe I am responsible for the financial fortunes of Metro, the real *appointing authority* will instruct them to do so… Mtseeewwww,” she wrote.

Her post has however generated a lot of reactions as some X users believe it is high time the leadership of GTV is changed and massive improvements made to their programming.
