WoezorTV breakfast co-host Ewura Adams Karim has tackled Ghanaian Media personality Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah after he boldly claimed that 80 percent of President John Dramani Mahama appointments went to the Northerners and the Voltarians.
According to Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah, Akans make up 46% of Ghana’s population yet John Mahama appointed mostly Northerners and the Voltarians.
Speaking on his For the Records show, Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah stated, “Akans constitute about 46 percent of the whole of Ghana, but 80 percent of John Mahama’s appointments went to Northerners and the Voltarians, What is that, major ethnic groups Akans constitute about 46 percent”.
“Let us even take the Akan-dominated area, the Ashanti Region, Central Region, Western Region, Western North, Eastern Region, Bono Region, Ahafo Region, and Bono East, let us look at the number of votes John Mahama got there and let us see what without them can John Mahama become President”, he added.
Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah added, “Now you are sharing appointments you have based on your stronghold, which is the five northern regions and the Volta Region are they the only people who made you President?
As we speak most many of their party people have been left with nothing, you have not seen anything yet, when we were going to vote and I stated this, you fought with me, now you are being abandoned you are calling me what should I do for you”, he revealed.
Reacting to Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah, Ewura Adams Karim asserted that Okatakyie comments are blatant lie from the pit of hell.
He wrote on X, “Another blatant lie from the pit of hell. It is tribal comments like this one from these elements that have the tendency to cause chaos and mayhem. We must not allow such lies continue to fester.
Ghana has 16 regions and all 16 regions have had their fair share of appointments. In fact, even if were to split Ghana into the Northern sector and Southern sector, the total number of ministries allocated to the southern sector total 13 whereas Northern Ghana has only 6” he stated.
Ewura Adams Karim further gave a breakdown of Mahama regional appointments breakdown, “ Central Region – 1 (Finance) Ashanti Region – 2 (Interior; Works, Housing and Water Resources) Western Region – 2 (Health; Lands and Natural Resources Eastern Region – 1 (Defence) Bono Region – 2 (Trade, Agribusiness and Industry; Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs) Ahafo Region – 1 (Food and Agriculture) Volta Region – 2 (Foreign Affairs; Roads and Highways) Greater Accra Region – 2 (Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations; Gender, Children and Social Protection) Total for Southern Ghana: 13 ministers”.
