The majority leader in parliament Mahama Ayariga has jabbed the minority leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin on the floor of parliament yet again.
According to Mahama Ayariga, he now knows that all that the minority leader has been doing in the last few weeks is for social media.
His comments come after Afenyo Markin questioned him over his attempt to respond to social media remarks.
Afenyo Markin speaking on the floor of parliament stated, “Majority leader, this is your interventionist strategy you better cool it down, because if you want to be responding to social media attacks on you, to now be doing pound-for-pound. Allow the opposition to do its work, this is a job for your whips.
The man is there than on everything you are getting up, please he should commit to time. When is he coming?”
Mahama Ayariga reacting to Afenyo Markin’s comments on the floor of parliament stated, “I just got to know that all these days that he has been doing what he is doing is for social media, I just got to know, so all that you have been doing is for social media.
Now I understand, look I will not respond again to you, because I now know your objectives, that you are only doing it for social media. Mr Speaker the business committee will schedule the minister”, he added.
Meanwhile, Mahama Ayariga cut the minority leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin into sizes on the floor of parliament.
According to Mahama Ayariga, Alexander Afenyo-Markin must learn to behave properly in the chamber.
The majority leader stated, “Mr Speaker, the minority leader should learn to behave properly in this chamber.
This is a government that keeps its promises, so you cannot stand here and just throw your fingers and then point at and say we don’t keep our promises, the budget has just been brought, and we have not even yet considered it, we have not yet approved it, for us to implement our promises”.
He added, “You cannot always stand up and talk as if you are more than anybody in this chamber make this your last time”.
Moreover, the majority leader and minority leader have been in the news recently after Alexander Afenyo-Markin revived calls for the establishment of a new Parliamentary chamber and the building of members of Parliament Hospital.
Mahama Ayariga, rejected the proposal by the Minority Leader, citing the current financial crisis of the state as the reason.
