Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has blown an alarm on the Presidential Adviser and Special Aide to President John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawa Mogtari.
According to Abronye DC, Joyce Bawa is allegedly being paid the same salary as the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) boss.
He claimed that Joyce Bawa Mogtari receives a monthly salary of GH¢ 95,000 at the Jubilee House.
Abronye further claimed that Joyce Bawa was told not to stress herself in fighting for a ministerial position to avoid unnecessary stress.
Speaking in an interview on Net 2 TV, Abronye alleged, “She was called and advised not to go for any ministerial position to avoid unnecessary stress. Instead, she was told to sit at the Jubilee House and receive the same salary as the GRA boss. Didn’t you call me to give you information, don’t you want to listen to information. How do you want me to say it?
You will not go and look for information when I bring them you claim I am saying things. GH¢ 95,000, just GH¢ 5,000 left to make it 1 billion old cedis. That is Joyce Bawah’s salary. Today, she doesn’t respect anybody in this country”, he stated.
Abronye DC further added, “She is a presidential staffer, go and look at the presidential staffer act it is in there, go and look at the presidential act. The Presidency budget which people are going to use it”.
Is GH¢ 95,000 news, if the NPP was paying that amount Nana Addo’s budget was 397 million, they claim they have reduced it but it is now 11 billion.
They will not amend it, the money that Ghanaians and the finance minister budgeted for the Jubilee House is the amount they are giving Joyce Bawa because she is the president’s sister and she advises the president, and senior presidential advisor on social media to insult people”, Abronye DC boldly added.
Meanwhile, Joyce Bawa Mogtari in an old post on X sent a stern warning to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) perpetrators of fake news.
She noted that the NPP strategy that appeared after losing the 2024 election is to tickle yourself and laugh.
According to her, she would not hesitate to take legal action unlike before.
In a post on social media page X, Joyce Bawa revealed the NPP are seeking to undermine her for the lawful acquisition of a vehicle for personal use.
Joyce Bawa wrote, “Notice is hereby given that, unlike before, I won’t hesitate to take legal action against such perpetrators of such false and malicious publications”.
According to Joyce Bawa Mogtari, the NPP has resorted to baseless, needless and unjustified tactics against her.
The special aide to President Mahama added, “Since their crushing defeat in the last election, the NPP’s strategy appears to be nothing more than “tickle yourself and laugh.”
“They have resorted to baseless, needless and unjustified tactics of seeking to undermine my person for the lawful acquisition of a vehicle for personal use”.
“Their attacks would have been justified if in their haste to attack me, they were able to show that the acquisition was not in full compliance with my Conditions of Service or any law”, she noted.
Joyce Bawa revealed, that leading members of the NPP have targeted her out of frustration and constantly throw accusations at her.
She wrote, “My adherence to law and service to Ghana is buttressed by the fact that I have not been the subject of any investigation or complaint regarding the acquisition of the said vehicle”.
Sadly, leading figures and rank and file of the NPP, have made me a target of their frustration and constantly throw accusations at me yet none stick”.
