Mustapha Gbande further sent a warning to former President Akufo-Addo that he would not be spared from the NDC government prosecution.

Speaking in an interview on Citi News, Mustapha Gbande stated, “I can say on authority that they have stolen from the nation. President Akufo-Addo has supervised his appointees to steal from the nation. You are going to see this, and those people will be taken on by the laws of the land. Nana Akufo-Addo himself will not be spared”, the Deputy Director in charge of Operations at the Presidency boldly stated.

Mustapha Gbande asserted that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is committed to prosecuting officials from the previous Akufo-Addo Bawumia administration who are alleged to have misappropriated the country’s resources.

“I know that President Mahama is committed, and the party is solidly behind him to do that which Ghanaians have brought us to do, including prosecuting those who have stolen from the nation.”

He further revealed, that ministries, departments, and agencies are unearthing the rots, the crook deals that have been buried from the public and the media.

“In the next few days, you will see ministries, departments, agencies unearthing the rots, the crook deals that have been buried from the public and the media”, he stated.

Meanwhile, Richard Ahiagbah the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Director of Communications has revealed former President Akufo-Addo’s message to his former appointees.

According to Richard Ahiagbah, Akufo-Addo has directed his former appointees to stay in Ghana and make sure they remain available for any accountability processes.

His comments come after the OSP Kissi Agyebeng declared Ken Ofori-Atta a fugitive for failing to appear for interrogation into corruption-related investigations.

Ken Ofori Atta has been accused of causing financial loss to the state in several dealings including the construction of the famous National Cathedral and Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA’s) – Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML), the loss reduction contract between ECG and Beijing Jao and Health Ministry to Service Ghana Auto Limited/Ambulances.

The OSP has since removed Ken Ofori Atta from their wanted list after the suspect confirmed his return date to Ghana.

Speaking on JOY NEWS PM Express on Wednesday, February 18, Richard Ahiagbah revealed, “

Revealing the directive from the former President, “There’s an effective commitment right from the former President himself. He has given a directive to ensure that our people are available to do that”.

“I just don’t want to go into the details of what he said, but there is that disposition from the former President an indication to stay and make sure that you account for [your stewardship]”, he added.

Richard Ahiagbah asserted that the NPP have no record of running away from accountability and is going to remain in the country.

He accused the National Democratic Congress of rather running away from accountability citing Sedinam Tamakloe’s disappperance.

“We [the NPP] have no record of running away; we’ll be here, We’ll deal with the issues here. It was the NDC members who ran away. My own sister, Sedinam Tamakloe, disappeared. She was tried in absentia, but she ought to be here. Our party has no history of our officials fleeing from accountability”, he revealed.
