President of IMANI Ghana, Franklin Cudjoe, has called out Member of Parliament (MP) for Damongo, Samuel Abu Jinapor, describing him as intellectually deficit.
According to him, Abu Jinapor does not measure up to the standards of Dr. Zanetor Agyeman Rawlings in the least bit.
He urged Abu Jinapor to apologise to Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, the MP for Klottey Korle, for the “daughter of a murderer” comment.
In a strongly worded Facebook post on 5th March, Franklin Cudjoe wrote, “Dear Abu,
Just apologise to the lady for the uncouth remarks. But for Parliament, you really wouldn’t be fit to be her associate in intellect, respect and honour.”
The Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo Markin was on the floor addressing Parliament on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 when a loud voice from the back bench from the Minority in Parliament called a Majority MP a “Daughter of a murderer, sit down! Daughter of a murderer, sit down!”
It was later discovered the voice was referring to the Klottey Korle MP, Dr. Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings while she was making a submission on the floor of the House.
Following the incident, both the majority and minority have condemned the comment against Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings.
Initially, social media users claimed MP for Damongo, Samuel Abu Jinapor made that comment but he came out to dismiss the claims.
Speaking to the media, Samuel Abu Jinapor stated, “I do not speak in that manner; the words attributed to me are not mine, The words being falsely attributed to me are not words I will ever use”.
“I didn’t even know such words had been uttered. When the video was brought to my attention, I found it totally false. It cannot be correct”, he added.
Abu Jinapor further expressed his deep respect for the late former President Jerry John Rawlings.
“When his children established a foundation for tree planting, I was the guest of honour. It is on record what I said about him”, he added.
