A survey conducted by Global InfoAnalytics shows that in every five (5) Ghanaians, four (4) of them are glad Dr. George Akufo-Dampare was removed from office as the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
In a post made by the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, only one (1) out of five (5) Ghanaians opposed the sacking of Dr. Akufo Dampare.
From the survey, a majority of Ghanaians however strangely applauded Dr. Akufo Damapre for his performance during the December 7, 2024 general elections.
He wrote on his Facebook page, “Nearly 3 in 4 voters rate Dr Akufo Dampares’ performance very high during the election, but only 1 in 5 oppose his sacking.”
The survey’s results have sparked discussions on the reasons behind Dampare’s removal, despite his widely acknowledged professionalism.
Some analysts believe political considerations may have played a role, while others argue it reflects a broader issue of leadership transitions in key state institutions.
