The Member of Parliament for Assin South in the Central Region Rev. John Ntim Fordjour has chided the Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
According to Ntim Fordjour, Okudzeto Ablakwa brought about 4 bags of documents about people to his vetting but couldn’t produce documents about his business and rent agreements.
Speaking on Good Morning Ghana, Ntim Fordjour stated, “My good friend Ablakwa first thing he did when he appeared before the vetting committee was to insist that the Chairman of the committee and the ranking apologise to him his wife and his family because he felt that some statement the minority leader made had smeared his reputation he demanded it.
In all fairness, you must also be sensitive to the reputation of others, so that you just don’t damage people’s reputations when you know that yours is important to you”, he stated.
The member of parliament added, “ He went there with 4 or 3 bags, full of documents relating to other properties and other lands dealing here and there when he was requested to bring just nine documents related to his business and properties he said he is renting, he is a successful man, why shouldn’t he be bold to say I own this property.
If Ablakwa owns five properties he has worked hard he deserves to have them, he should be bold but because of certain utterances, you will be shy and say you rent, I later heard he had submitted some. These are all documents in relation to people, but you could not bring your rent agreement or business document, but you carry things about people”, he added.
