Henry Nana Boakye, the National Organiser of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), has quizzed the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng after he declared Ken Ofori Atta a fugitive.
According to Henry Nana Boakye, what stops the OSP from travelling to question Ken Ofori-Atta?
He noted that Kissi Agyebeng told Ghanaians he travelled to the UK to interview Sam Mahama, John Mahama’s brother, in the Airbus scandal case so what stops him now.
The OSP Kissi Agyebeng declared Ken Ofori-Atta a fugitive for failing to appear for interrogation into corruption-related investigations.
Ken Ofori Atta has been accused of causing financial loss to the state in several dealings including the construction of the famous National Cathedral and Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA’s) – Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML).
Speaking during a press conference on Thursday, Henry Nana Boakye stated, “Kissi Agyebeng told us in August last year that he travelled all the way to the UK to interview Sam Mahama, John Mahama’s brother, in the Airbus scandal case. So, what stopped him from doing the same for the former minister?”
“Just as you travelled to the UK to interview Sam Mahama, what stopped you from doing the same for the former Finance Minister? What is so urgent that, if you could have waited two years before interviewing Sam Mahama in the Airbus case, you couldn’t wait a bit longer for Mr Ofori-Atta?”, he added.
Meanwhile, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader has said the former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta will make himself available for investigations.
