According to Edudzi Tameklo, he does not know what exactly the NPP problem is.

His comments follow concerns expressed by members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the OSP declaring  Mr Ofori-Atta a fugitive.

The OSP Kissi Agyebeng declared Ken Ofori-Atta a fugitive for failing to appear for interrogation into corruption-related investigations.

Ken Ofori Atta has been accused of causing financial loss to the state in several dealings including the construction of the famous National Cathedral and Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA’s) – Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML), the loss reduction contract between ECG and Beijing Jao and Health Ministry to Service Ghana Auto Limited/Ambulances.

Edudzi Tameklo noted that former President Akufo-Addo caused the Office of the Special Prosecutor to investigate John Mahama, a former President. If this could be done, why not Ofori-Atta?

Speaking on TV3 Key Point on February 15, 2025, Edudzi Tameklo stated angrily, “What exactly is the problem? Is it that Ofori-Atta is above being declared wanted or being investigated? Nana Addo caused the Office of the Special Prosecutor to investigate John Mahama, a former President. If this could be done, why not Ofori-Atta?”

“The Special Prosecutor went to John Mahama and took statements from him. We have had a Finance Minister (Kwame Peprah) and Deputy (Sipa Yankey) go to jail in this country.”

Edudzi Tameklo added, “People have gone through hell under Akufo-Addo and his family members. They should be lucky (sic) that they have a forward-looking President like John Mahama as President as of this Republic…that he is a man who appreciates the requirements of due process. If one has committed an offence, so be it. But John Mahama, with his experience and good governance principles, has gone beyond it.”
