Dr Sharif Mahmud Khalid, Economic Policy Advisor, office of the Vice President has revealed that the John Mahama administration is working day and night to achieve all its promises.
According to Dr Sharif Mahmud Khalid, they are working to make sure President Mahama has real tangible results and an impact on the economy.
Dr. Sharif Mahmud Khalid when asked if the E-levy was going to be cut stated, “The government is in process, the cabinet is still being processed, and we have sector ministers who have the responsibility, I am advising the government.
Do we all agree it is a nuisance? Tax yes we do, President Mahama listed a number of activities he is going to undertake within the first 120 days of his administration, so we are still within, have we exhausted the first 120 days? So can you ask your question after that?” he quizzed.
Dr Sharif Mahmud Khalid further added, “Is the budget out, the Budget is not out we still have all the way till March, to have a budget, so why don’t you wait to have the budget, why don’t you wait for the expiration of the 120 days, then you can ask this kind of questions that you want to ask.
As you say, we are working day and night to achieve all of this to have real impacts and to make sure that President Mahama does not only have a tick box exercise but actually has real tangible results and impact on the economy”. He boldly stated.
