He asserted that the NPP would have secured 30 percent if the December polls elections had been held earlier that year.

Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu admitted that in August 2024 things were difficult in the country.

Speaking on Nhyira FM, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu detailed, “Before when we were travelling when people saw us on a Bus, the euphoria and happiness that they greet us with on the road and raised our hands this time it was not there, then we saw we were in a real battle”.

“For me, I was seeing the signals that it was going to be difficult, but we still believed, that things would change, in fact, if we did not vote in December and we voted in August maybe we would have gotten 30 percent, I am being candid”, he added.

The chairman of the NPP manifesto committee added, “In August things were difficult, but getting to December the economy was improving a little, with Bawumia also on the ground with people seeing him. I remember we met with some church leaders after Bawumia spoke one of the men of God tapped me and said leader this man is good, I can feel his sincerity and humility”.

Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu noted that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia did his part but there were a lot of things against him.

Meanwhile, the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, has revealed that 80% of Ghanaians voted against the NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, because of former President Akufo-Addo.

According to Mussa Dankwah, Ghanaians voted against Dr Mahamudu Bawumia because of his tide to Akufo-Addo.

He noted that Dr Bawumia tried to move away from Akufo-Addo when he stated he was just a mere mate in the Akufo-Addo government.

Speaking on Peace FM, Mussah Dankwah detailed, “We have done some work; I think the blame goes to Nana Addo, about 80 percent of voters blame Nana Addo for the NPP lost. 80 percent, and that is very huge and secondly, Bawumia, not for his campaign performance, by his tide to Nana Addo, he could not distance himself from Nana Addo”.

“If you remember those mate arguments, he was trying to in the minds of people to move away from Nana Addo that would have helped if people believed in him, but because they didn’t believe that, they didn’t buy into that”, he added.
