The National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, has apologised to Ghanaians for the NPP’s failure to deliver on their mandate.
According to Salam Mustapha, he admits there were a lot of mistakes that were made by the NPP during their 8 years in government.
He noted that businessmen, both friends and financiers of the NPP, were angry with the Akufo-Addo Bawumia government.
Salam Mustapha revealed that some NPP financiers refused to give out money for the NPP campaign due to anger.
Speaking on Peace FM, Salam Mustapha stated, “I admit it, the mistakes were a lot, look, businessmen were angry with us, some of them our friends, financiers, you can go to someone, and he will tell you if he would give his money to you for NPP politics, he would not give it to you”.
“They are there, and we are sorry we hurt them, the youths, a lot of them, they did not get work we are sorry we hurt them, Journalists that we knew were NPP people the way we treated them, many of them are not happy we are sorry”, he added.
Salam Mustapha further admitted the NPP had realised their wrongs after losing power, and he added that the party would do better once they were aware of their mistakes.
Meanwhile, in an earlier interview with Asempa FM Salam Mustapha boldly claimed that the NPP would not have lost if the 2024 election results were close.
“That is the level of confidence, and I wanted my party people to know that look, we are not down, OB do you honestly think if the results were close, we would have easily led go? Do you think? Just let it go like that, I am not sure we would have lost if the results were close”, He stated.
