The Nigerian Airforce has become a subject of ridicule globally.
Their humiliation follows a failed drill by the Airforce, which ended with their officers mistargeting and falling off in wrong locations all over the country.
In what has become a joke, a group of Nigerian Airforce paratroopers during a drill jumped from choppers but failed to properly land in marked zones.
In the video widely circulated on social media, some of the Nigerian Airforce paratroopers were seen landing in fields and some in car parks in unnamed areas of the country.
What makes this video shocking was the fact that these Nigerian Airforce paratroopers did not even know the correct landing procedures when reaching the surface. Some were sadly dragged on the ground until the parachutes crumbled, exposing them to serious risks and could have resulted in death.
Although netizens including Nigerians have poked fun and made jokes about the Nigerian Airforce, some have called the government to provide improved training to the army.
Paratroopers are soldiers who parachute into battle zones as part of an airborne unit. They are highly trained and often deployed behind enemy lines.
Paratroopers undergo basic soldier training, parachute training, and training to operate with helicopters.
According to most military experts, the United States is widely considered to have the best paratroopers in the world, due to their extensive experience, advanced training, and robust logistical support system.
