A video has surfaced of a 10-year-old second-year student of Mfantsipim School.
The 10-year-old student has been identified as Lucas Diamond from the Volta Region.
According to reports the young boy is studying General Science.
The young Lucas Diamond revealed his dad is a teacher.
Some Ghanaians have reacted to the video by questioning why some parents rush their children into the Senior high Schools.
The user wrote, “I don’t know why there dem to be a rush to let kids finish school at such early stages. You let a 9-year-old enter SHS?”
“This is not good for the kid. This is going to hinder his EQ development. He obviously has a high IQ, but he needs to develop with his peers to develop emotionally and socially. There should be a separate program for gifted kids like him”, another stated.
According to another X user, he claims kids with high IQs and very low EQs and SQ lives become unbalanced and quite unhappy.
“This is a stretch tbh. Eventually, such kids grow with high IQs and very low EQs and SQ; their lives become unbalanced and quite unhappy”, he stated.
An additional x user wrote, “All those saying it’s bad, why can’t a genius be in a class or grade that he qualifies for? Why do we have to use that Ghanaian mentality to define ourselves that you have to be a certain age to qualify for something? Let the kid go to school and do his PhD at 15 if he wants to”.
A user also revealed there is a 15-year-old who also just entered KNUST.
“There’s a 15-year-old who just entered KNUST to study physics. These kids are special kids and should be well monitored”, he stated.
