Fire has engulfed houses and shops at Tantra Hill near Lancaster University.
According to reports, the Ghana National Fire Service personnel are at the scene fighting the flaming fires.
The cause of the fire remains unclear as residents and business owners struggle to recover their belongings.
The general public has been urged to stay away as the emergency teams work to contain the raging fire.
