A video has surfaced of the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Petroleum Commission Emeafa Hardcastle giving President John Dramani Mahama an inmate hug at an event.
In the video that has gone viral on social media, Emeafa Hardcastle was spotted seated dressed in white at an event.
She was later captured going to hug the President of Ghana John Mahama.
Emeafa Hardcastle and President Mahama were captured in a brief moment of talking and both later broke into all smiles and laughter.
The name Emeafa Hardcastle gained notoriety in Ghana last month following her altercation with Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh.
A full-blown-out confrontation between the two rocked parliament on January 28, 2025.
The altercation ended with Emeafa Hardcastle describing Annoh-Dompreh being a silly child.
The MP who was not displeased with her choice of words requested the Speaker of Parliament to haul her before the Privileges Committee to answer for her actions.
Following this demand from Annoh-Dompreh, Education Minister, Haruna Iddrisu (MP) has asked his (Annoh-Dompreh) to reconsider his decision while asking Emeafa to offer a public apology and retraction of her statements.
Other notable members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) have also called on her to apologize while asking Annoh-Dompreh not to drag her before the Privileges Committee.
Some Ghanaians also condemned her actions, while some believe it is high time to bring down MPs and politicians from their high horses with a reality check.
Some X users however believe she has stood true to power and such a confident woman who stands for no-nonsense must be made Chief Justice.
Meanwhile, the last we heard of the altercation was the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, holding a closed-door meeting with Victoria Emeafa Hardcastle on January 30, 2025.
The meeting follows a clash between Ms. Hardcastle and Frank Annoh-Dompreh, during a sitting of the Appointments Committee on Tuesday, January 28.
