Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale North, Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini says the Minority Caucus led by Alexander Afenyo-Markin is only acting belligerent just to be noticed by Ghanaians.
He disclosed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) currently does not have any political strategy and is relying on tantrums of Afenyo-Markin to stay relevant in the media space.
“For a minority group that is so micro, the only way to be noticed is to swing in all directions, and at everything in anticipation that you will at least land or hit something and that is the character and nature of Afenyo-Markin. He is like a bull in a China shop, he swings at anything and everything with the hope that he will land something good,” he disclosed.
The MP indicated that he was not at all surprised at the approach of Afenyo-Markin when he took over as Minority Leader.
“I thought his approach on the floor (of parliament), at the Appointments Committee was a strategy that is in line with his character, to make his group that can be easily be ignored by their number to be noticed. It didn’t matter if the issues he was raising were relevant to Ghanaians. What was important was that he was occupying the media space, they were being noticed and heard and their presence was being felt.”
Suhuyini now insists Afenyo-Markin and the NPPs overall strategy is infuriating Ghanaians. He advised them to rather look within themselves and resolve their internal issues.
“He has carried his strength too far and it is beginning to look very nasty and messy.”
