The information gathered suggests Media General’s TV3 has been allegedly snubbed after they requested to have the minority leader in parliament Alexander Afenyo Markin on their show.
According to Africa Focus in a post on social media platform X, TV3 was turned down due to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) boycott of Media General.
Their post reads, “ Tv3 allegedly turned down after they requested to have the minority leader on their show, according to our source, this is due to the NPP’s boycott of media general”.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has withdrawn from all Media General’s platforms, including TV3, 3 FM, and Onua FM since January 26.
The party’s communications director, Richard Ahiagbah communicated through a press release issued made this known.
According to the NPP, this follows months of supposed failed attempts to address concerns over biased and unprofessional conduct by Media General hosts and management.
Portions of the release issued by the NPP reads, “Despite repeated assurances since 2023, the observed misconduct and unfairness persist. Though withdrawal is not our preferred resort, we have been forced by the stance of the management of the media house to proceed in this direction,” the NPP press statement read.
