Chief Executive Officer of defunct gold dealership, Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM 1) has shared his views on the recent declaration of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta as “wanted”.
NAM1 after the news broke took to X to throw shades at the former Finance Minister, citing how he was treated in a similar manner in the past.
He recounted how he left Ghana some years back when Ken Ofori-Atta was Finance Minister to chase outstanding payments from clients to settle Menzgold’s debts.
According to him, both the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) and the presidency were aware of the planned trip, only for him to be declared wanted the next day.
He indicated that Ken Ofori-Atta has been give a dose of his own poison.
NAM1 wrote on X, “Left town to recover Menzgold gold supplied payments to settle the Company’s debt, after having informed EOCO & having met with the President later that night. Only to be declared wanted next morning by you guys, claiming I have absconded. Today, you’re on a WANTED list. Life!”
The Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng declared Ken Ofori-Atta wanted yesterday, February 12, 2025.
The OSP is currently investigating four major cases involving Ofori-Atta’s tenure as finance minister; National Cathedral Procurement Scandal, Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML) Contract, ECG-Beijing Jao Contract, Health Ministry’s Ambulance Procurement Deal.
Ken Ofori-Atta is reportedly out of the country seeking medical attention. The OSP has ordered him to immediately return to Ghana for questioning.
