According to the reports, the incident happened yesterday Tuesday, 12 February 2025 in the afternoon.

The information gathered suggests the men stormed Ken Ofori Atta’s home in Cantonments while he was reportedly out of the country.

The reports suggest that 12 individuals, five in military uniforms, and one in a police uniform with the rest in ordinary clothes.

Addressing the press on Wednesday, February 12, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng  stated, “Mr. Ofori-Atta, the OSP did not raid your house on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, or on any other day. Mr. Ofori-Atta, the OSP did not cause any person, however uniformed, to raid your house on February 11, 2025, or on any other day. That could not have been the OSP, and that is not our style. If the OSP enters your premises, you will not be in doubt as to where the OSP had come from, and your lawyers will not have cause to inquire as to whether it was the OSP,”

“We have our unique methods of searches that are specifically designed to identify ourselves, not just by stating that we are from the OSP”, he added.

Kissi Agyebeng added, “Our intelligence points us to state that the purported raid of Mr. Ofori-Atta’s residence was staged or, at best, an imposter action in an attempt to cause disfavour for the OSP and to derail the investigation. The OSP is never deterred by such occurrences, and the investigations will continue as prescribed by law.”

Meanwhile, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has declared former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta a fugitive.

Ken Ofori Atta has been accused of causing financial loss to the state in several dealings including the construction of the famous National Cathedral and Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA’s) – Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML).
